Xiao Lab publishes latest findings in Nature: A Data-Driven Discovery of a Protein that Regulates Cysteine Catabolism!
We are thrilled to share that Xiao Lab and colleagues have recently published a paper in Nature titled "Covariation MS uncovers a protein that controls cysteine catabolism”.
This study leveraged mass spectrometry and machine learning to identify LRRC58, a previously uncharacterized protein that controls cysteine catabolism by degrading CDO1, the enzyme that breaks down cysteine. The team further discovered that cysteine itself functions as a molecular signal tuning this degradation.
