Das Lab Publishes CASP16 Findings in PROTEINS
CASP16 special issue papers assess the quantitative 3D accuracy and biological relevance of blind RNA structure predictions.
CASP16 special issue papers led by Rachael Kretsch, Postdoctoral Scholar in the Chiu and Das Labs, along with Das Lab members assess the quantitative 3D accuracy and biological relevance of blind RNA structure predictions from ~60 groups and, for the first time, water ensembles around an RNA. Our lab also contributed to assessment of protein complexes. The overall picture: deep learning has fueled limited progress in modeling RNA and its complexes, with much progress required. In 2026, the team will be returning to CASP not as assessors but as predictors — reach out if you’re interested in helping them close the gap!
